Apparently they were originally considering production in Ohio as early as January, but now it looks as though they're eyeing Louisiana or Georgia for a Spring shoot.

I recently discovered that one of my former classmates works at Edward Bass Films. According to him, they are in the final stages of preproduction with the script and are working like crazy trying to find the actress to play the notorious Belle Gunness. He's heard a bunch of names thrown around like Catherine Zeta Jones. I still have my fingers crossed for Angelina Jolie. Stay tuned for more info.

For those that didn't know, Edward Bass' production work can be viewed on edwardbass.net. Getting more excited about the latest "Belle" since it's Bass' directorial debut and there is talk about a well known actress getting the lead.

Two items to note in the article is that Edward Bass worked with Eva Mayer, a resident of the town, whose family actually purchased the old Gunness property! Second, as a movie buff I love how Hitchcock portrayed the town in "Shadow of a Doubt" so if Bass is using that as his template, the cinematography alone will be out of this world. The story follows Belle Gunness, a female serial killer in LaPorte, Indiana in the early 1900s. Apparently, she is responsible for the deaths of around 50 suitors from across the United States. I kinda want to see Angelina Jolie do something like this. For more go to this Herald Argus link at http://heraldargus.com/main.asp?FromHome=1&TypeID=1&ArticleID=130505&SectionID=4&SubSectionID=4
For my film class, I researched Edward Bass (www.edwardbassfilms.com) and I really like his work. I’m really looking forward to his new project “Belle” about a female serial killer.
